By creating an account or using SafeTrace, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Service description

SafeTrace provides tools for Nigerian families, schools, estates, and authorized liaisons to coordinate the first hours after a disappearance, abduction concern, trip risk, or controlled school release. Features include Imole Alert, trusted-circle SMS, case files, evidence upload, signed PDF export, and police liaison handoff checks.

2. Not emergency services

SafeTrace does not replace 112, the Nigeria Police Force, fire, ambulance, hospitals, or licensed security providers. Users must contact emergency services when life is at immediate risk. Message delivery depends on mobile networks and third-party SMS providers.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Institutions must assign access only to trained staff and remove access when roles end.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use SafeTrace for covert tracking without consent, call interception, harassment, impersonation, rumour mongering, evidence tampering, extortion, unlawful surveillance, or any conduct that endangers a person or obstructs lawful authorities.

5. User content and evidence

You retain responsibility for content you submit. You grant SafeTrace a limited licence to store, process, and display that content to provide the service and produce lawful exports. SafeTrace may preserve audit logs and integrity records to support disputes, compliance, and police handoff.

6. Institution obligations

Schools and other institutions must maintain valid authority for rosters, guardian contacts, release workflows, and escalation trees. They must comply with child-safety and data-protection obligations applicable to their sector.

7. Police and liaison use

Police liaison features support controlled handoff of family-prepared case files. They do not constitute integration with NPF databases or automatic case creation in police systems unless and until a formal agreement is executed. See For Nigeria Police.

8. Subscriptions and payments

Paid plans are billed as described at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated in a separate agreement. Free tiers may have usage limits.

9. Availability and disclaimers

We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, successful SOS delivery, GPS accuracy, or particular outcomes in emergencies. The service is provided on an "as is" basis to the extent permitted by Nigerian law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SafeTrace and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including delayed alerts or reliance on user-entered information. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or preserve platform integrity. You may stop using the service at any time.

12. Privacy

Personal data is processed as described in our Privacy notice. By using SafeTrace you acknowledge that notice.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use after notice may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.

14. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution before litigation. Courts in Nigeria shall have jurisdiction unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
